Visiting this website
Your browser sends technical connection information, including your IP address, when it requests a page or file. We process this information to deliver the website, maintain its security and diagnose technical problems.
The website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH on a server in Nuremberg, Germany. The hosting provider processes technical information needed to operate the service on our behalf.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Access logs
We keep web-server access logs for security and troubleshooting. An entry records the time of the request, the method and address requested, including any query parameters, the response status, the amount of data transferred, the processing duration, and technical request details your browser sends, such as browser and device identification and the page that referred you here.
IP addresses are shortened in these logs by masking the final eight bits of IPv4 addresses and the final eighty bits of IPv6 addresses. Shortening IP addresses reduces detail; we do not represent these logs as necessarily anonymous. The server still receives the full IP address to establish the connection.
We keep access logs while they are needed for security and troubleshooting. We do not use these logs for analytics, advertising or profiling. Log files are rotated when they reach a size limit; rotation alone does not establish a fixed deletion period.
Cookies, analytics and animation
This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers or tracking cookies. Its fonts use your system’s available fonts; its styles, illustrations and scripts are served with the website rather than loaded from external font or analytics services.
The firefly animation runs in your browser. It respects your reduced-motion preference and provides a pause control. The animation code uses page visibility and whether the animated area is on screen to pause work when it is not visible. It does not send these signals or your animation-control choices to us or save them in browser storage.
The website does not provide an account, contact form or embedded social-media widget. Ordinary external links are not tracking widgets.
Contacting us by email
If you email us, we process your address, any name you provide, your message and any attachments to respond and handle the enquiry. Please send only information needed for the enquiry.
For enquiries about entering a contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where its conditions apply. For other enquiries, it is our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Correspondence is retained while necessary to handle the enquiry and relevant follow-up. Where it becomes part of business, accounting or legal records, applicable retention duties and the need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims may require longer retention. A tax-record retention duty does not automatically apply to every message.
The contact mailbox uses Microsoft 365 Business.

Your rights
Where the relevant legal conditions apply, you can request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing or data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation.
Contact contact@occurrens.com to make a request. We may need proportionate information to establish your identity and locate the relevant data; do not send identity documents unless requested and necessary.
You may complain to a competent data-protection supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
This website does not use your data for automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.
